METHODS OF SEEKING

Third Step – METHODS OF SEEKING.  This is an interesting one because humanity has done some of its most bizarre things by acquiring methods of seeking.  But even that, you see, has led to the Second Step – which is acquiring knowledge, learning more.  Humanity, in its adapting of Methods of Seeking, created a most curious invention – religion.  Quite curious, with pantheons of deities, sin, guilt, retribution, punishment, indulgences and tremendous financial wealth – all of which is not wrong in any way.  It’s simply that it has delayed the inevitable.  Again, it is the soul wishing to play, but in rather strange ways.

So, you have – as we’ve said from the beginning – two master civilizations.  One – their religion became the exploration and knowledge of the seven elements, therefore, the beginning of the understanding, or belief, and creation of deities within the seven elements.  (Do not misunderstand.  What humanity has thought of, it has created.  All thoughts exist; they do not stop existing.)  Humanity has created deities within the seven elements.  Therefore, they exist.  You are co-creators.  You can create whatever you desire.  And understand, also, that what you create, you are responsible for.  The Creative Source says, “Yes, create – all that you desire!”  The fine print says, “And you are responsible!”

So, deities were created: wood nymphs, devas, Pan – all of the mythical figures that appear to come out of Greek, or possibly Roman, mythology.  (Mainly Greek – the Romans were, shall we say, “light-fingered” about mythology.  Actually they were too involved in creating conflict to be very philosophical.  So, what they didn’t have time for, they simply acquired and put their name on.)  So all of those things do exist, even now.

Humanity created “little people.”  The Irish call them “leprechauns.”  Here, in this country, they’re called “devas,” as well as in other parts of the world.  They do exist.  You talk to plants and trees.  Is it the talking that makes them grow?  No, it is the energy you place – the love you give to the devas that have auspices over growing things.  They cultivate them; they are the workers.

This began long ago.  They were created by the human mind.  They were given life!  Humanity breathed and created them.  At times – at one point – they were visible.  Now, because humanity has tired of them – has tired of the fantasy –humanity cannot see them as well, but that does not mean that they do not exist.  They are there.

So that was one method – for civilization – creating a religion and establishing deities within the elements, then commanding these deities to do their bidding (rather strange religion, in a way.)  In the process – in the evolution of humanity within that concept – humanity once again forgot that it was the creator, thus giving away its power to the devas – to the deities it had created in the elements.

Now, think!  If you give your power to another – person or thing – and they enjoy that power and have great control, what occurs when you ask for it back?  There is reluctance (in its mildest sense.)  There is a threat to its very existence.  Because it is true – what humanity has created, humanity can recreate in a different way.  So the elements retained control because humanity had forgotten why it created them in the first place.  It was, initially, an effort to understand the seven elements and – through that understanding of those elements – remember the key of Oneness with the Creative Source, but humanity again forgot.

The second civilization did the same thing, in a way.  They created their religion – only their religion was their mind – and all things, all abundance of the earth, were but storehouses, resources, to be converted, fashioned in a new way through the use of the mind.  It did not occur to them that they had already placed limitations upon their own minds, limitations on their own imaginations, limitations upon their own abilities – their intuitive sensibilities.

So, once again – because their deity was their mind – the expansion of their religion became technology.  At first it was to aid others – to aid species of that Core Being – to a greater or higher quality of life.  Then gradually, that, too, was forgotten, and their scepter of religion became one of conquest.  Instead of raising the quality of life for other species of humanity, they saw them as sub-human.  (Sounds rather familiar, doesn’t it?)

So, you see, both civilizations are the basis of what has happened and it is happening now in the present.  There are elements of both civilizations in all of humanity now.  You have various things that developed.  From one you have the whole beginning of the Mother Goddess, the religion of seven elements and so forth; from the other, technology – the advances of science and so forth – became another religion.  Then you have the first establishment in Methods of Seeking, the combining of ideas into a smaller number of religions, each dealing with “gods” who are earthbound (in a sense) because they deal only with the seven elements on this planet.

So, the strength of one civilization is augmented by another – encompassing the whole globe – and, because of that, it has been difficult for humanity to think beyond – to use its imagination to push the boundaries beyond those two types of religion.  Even now, can any of you think of any world religion that does not fit within one or both of those concepts?  None do.  They may speak of deities beyond this plane but the deities are still limited.  The deities are still seen as gods of vengeance, gods of retribution, gods of doom.

Only one – one soul, reaching Christ-Consciousness and then Divine-Consciousness – exploded all of the myths for a moment in time – the Young Rabbi, 2,000 years ago.  But, what has happened in 2,000 years?  This explosion closed in upon itself and all of the beauty seemed –seemed – to have been lost, so that humanity did not follow that gentle command, “Love one another.”  Instead, it reverted to more ancient religions that said, “You will love, because I have the largest club!”  So power became the ultimate god.

We mentioned that – with one of the civilizations – it was either (it was an understanding of either) the power of love or the love of power.  Every religion in the world-whether Hindu or Catholicism, Baptist, Methodist, whatever (we single out no one)-is concerned with power first.  It says, “We must use our power to get the attention of humanity before it can understand it’s true purpose.”  Well, that is one method, but – over the past 2,000 years – it hasn’t worked very well.

LOVE is its own power.  LOVE is its own fuel.  LOVE needs no explanation to exist.  LOVE needs no dogma.  LOVE needs no penance.  LOVE needs no hierarchy to explain it.  It is.  It is The Word that is the Creative Source.  It is constant, ever-flowing.

Each of you in this room began the Third Step in the beliefs of your parents.  Each of you followed the prescribed regimen of that curious invention, again – religion, of one form or another.  Think of the power of that creation!  It dies hard in your mind, and there is the fallacy that it must die for you to know the Truth.  It does not.  It is a part of the Truth.  Embrace it!  There is nothing wrong with religion when it is seen in its proper perspective.  It is part of the creation of humanity.  It is part of the creation of the soul, who is the co-creator.

If seen in that perspective, then religion becomes a wonderful, wonderful thing – a tool that has been used to propel each of you toward the truth!  Use it.  It has brought you to that point in your life where you listen with ears to the truth that is the voice within each of your hearts.  It is not the truth simply given by this energy – or any other – in a channeled situation.  It is truth that you possess – always have, always will – within your own hearts.  You do not need someone to tell you what is truth and what is not.  You know.  Listening to your own heart, you know.  You are creators!

We said last week that each of you now fill the role as king, that the Christ-Consciousness – when first attempted – would have been the king of the world, in a very real sense; and that the second attempt – 2,000 years ago – would have been a spiritual king.  The Young Rabbi even said, “My kingdom is not of this world.”  So, he had moved from this plane to the spiritual plane.

Your kingdom transcends even that.  It encompasses all.  You are co-creators.  The Christ-Consciousness dwells within your hearts.  Your Method of Seeking has been – is – revealed!  You seek not outside, but inside.  True, it began outwardly, but – through the various religions, through various books, through various teachings and understandings, through sharing with friends – gathering knowledge everywhere, the end result has been: the True Seeker finds the answer inward, within one’s one heart.  That is where you are now.

With the time allotted, we might begin – or at least touch upon – another step, which is ACTIVELY SEEKING.  Actively Seeking is to take the truth that you now know within your own heart, expand upon it, share it.  By sharing, you actively seek to acquire the realization of the Second Step, knowledge.  You actively seek to embrace all other human beings, to live that which you know – which you desire most – in every fiber of your soul – total oneness with the Creative Source.  To Actively Seek means there are no boundaries to your LOVE.  There is no compromise to LOVE self and to LOVE all other souls.

Now, when we get to that step (it is a difficult one for most human beings because they cannot see the difference between loving the soul and loving the person ˆ and there is a vast difference) we Actively Seek to LOVE and understand the loving of any and all other souls.  You also have a preference not to be involved with certain people.  That doesn’t‚t mean that your Love stops. In general, humanity likes to think in terms of black and white, yes and no, and either/or ˆ very analytical conscious mind, very logical, allowing for no gray areas.  Why? - Because if there were, the conscious mind would be in trouble.  (Think about it!)

Yet, that is not true.  You not only are encouraged, you mustˆ if you wish to know and be a part of the Creative Source through your own knowledge ˆ must LOVE all souls (beginning with self) totally, non-judgmentally.  It may be that you do not prefer the actions of another or a group or a nation.  That is understood, but that does not limit your LOVE.  It does just the opposite.  It should fuel your LOVE!

Share Truth with all others… the intent is not to change them.  Rather, it is to share knowledge with them so that they may grow – if they desire – but you cannot place expectations upon yourself or them in the process.  The largest downfall – or the greatest pit – for humanity is (if I may take a title from Master Dickens) “Great Expectations.”  Humanity has humongous expectations, all of which are wrong!  (Think about it.)

Every time each of you have expected something to work out a certain way – made definite plans and so forth – what has happened?  It sort of fell through; it didn’t work that way.  Then you said, “Well, never mind.  We’ll make do – make do.”  You created from chaos.  Remove your expectations, dear friends, because you are using your conscious mind to logically conceive the outcome, and the conscious mind simply can’t do that.  It is only one of three parts of your being.  You cannot make that type of demand and see the fulfillment of your desires and your wants.  You set yourself up for a downfall.  You sabotage yourself.

Move forward with your desires and wants, but do not place limitations upon them as to how they are to unfold, what is the vehicle, what are the means.  Simply, with the ones whom we are involved with on a rather intimate level, we have found that to be the case.  We have never done anything that they expected us to do.  Keep them guessing!  Makes life much more worth the living!  If everything worked out the way you expected, it would become very dull and you’d decide not to play on this level any longer.  You’d go somewhere else, where the pickings were better.

So, keep that in mind and remember in this step, Actively Seeking – actively seeking to acquire and share knowledge in a particular way (in this case having to do with the gathering of truth, not religion), you give to it energy – as a result of having created it – and, also, know where its limitations are.  Its limitations are within your own imagination.
